    THE STORY OF ARTHUR TRULUV
by ELIZABETH BERG If you want to read a thoroughly engaging story, this is it. It centers on a recently–widowed elderly man who takes the bus each day to have lunch at the grave of his beloved late wife. This is not a sad visit for him, but a time to remember all the good times he had with his wife. One afternoon an 18-year old girl who visits the cemetery to get away from annoying kids at school happens upon Arthur and the two of them develop a surprising friendship, a friendship that turns friends into family. Before long a third person enters the trio and their unusual bonding creates a blessing for each one.

Everything is new and exciting to a child…whether it is a bird taking flight, a butterfly flitting among flowers, rain dancing in puddles, or lying on the grass and counting the clouds in the sky. Whatever the child sees is a wonderment and we are invited to enjoy it through her eyes.

BRIAN KILMEADE TO VISIT WITH NEW BOOK

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8; 7 PM

(Line numbers beginning at 6 pm. Show your books&co receipt for Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans to get a line number.)

BRIAN KILMEADE will discuss his book, Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans: The Battle That Shaped America’s Destiny. The War of 1812 saw America threatened on every side. Encouraged by the British, Indian tribes attacked settlers in the West, while the Royal Navy terrorized the coasts. By mid-1814, President James Madison’s generals had lost control of the war in the North, losing battles in Canada. Then British troops set the White House ablaze, and a feeling of hopelessness spread across the country. Into this dire situation stepped Major General Andrew Jackson, who had witnessed the horrors of the Revolutionary War and Indian attacks and knew that America had to control the mouth of the Mississippi River, New Orleans, to stop the British aggression. And that is what he miraculously did! SENTINEL

Brian Kilmeade has also written George Washington’s Secret Six and Thomas Jefferson and The Tripoli Pirates. His nationally syndicated radio show is heard locally weekdays on WHIO-AM1290 and WHIO-FM 95.7 FM from 9 am to noon.
